I apologize for the double post, but...
A Book Of Creatures seems to be a great source to relatively unknown mythical creatures, and they have professional references. All suggestions underneath are some of my favorites.
Beast Name:
Barcadzy Calh (accents left out)
Country of Origin:
Not sure.
Description:
Animate inanimate object- an intelligent razor-sharp wheel that happens to have flames bursting out of it. It's malevolent, and will destroy all if left unchecked, except for birch trees which have a resistance.
Source.Proposed Rarity: Rare
Beast Name:
Agrippa
Country of Origin:
France
Description:
Animate inanimate object, huge living malevolent book. Pages red, letters black. Essentially is a how-to guide to summoning demons. They hate being read, and need to be tamed or will show blank pages. Must be fought to show any words at all. Priests were trusted with them to discern the fate of the dead. Possession of one prevents one from reaching Heaven, but it's near impossible to get rid of them. Only a priest can truly exorcise one.
Source.Proposed Rarity: Rare, but perhaps common as it could be used to summon demon creatures. Could be an item instead of a pet.
Beast Name:
Xicalcoatl, aka chocolate cup snek
Country of Origin:
Mexico
Description:
Technically a mimic instead of an animate inanimate object, but basically, dark snake living in rivers with a weird growth on their back that looks like a chocolate cup. This mimic-cup lures people to try getting chocolate, in which case the snake moves further and further from the person and churns up the water to drown the unfortunate human.

Not animate inanimates, but still cool
Beast Name:
Falajitax (alt. Leile, Liwo)
Country of Origin:
Paraguay
Description:
Big snakes w/ the head of an ostrich, or more specifically the rhea bird. They have earrings, and their snake body is striped. They can take human and equine forms, if they wish, in order to lure unsuspecting humans. They're intelligent and can be reasoned with, bringing rain and creating honey that very rarely they share with shamans. However, they're also violent and can and will swallow people alive.

Beast Name:
Brethmechin
Country of Origin:
Java
Description:
They're amphibious beasts (whoo more marine animals), but have two legs which allow them to move on land. Poorly, but still. Panther's head and tail, lion's feet, red dorsal fin. They're red in color but have blue spots.

Beast Name:
Romisiwamnari (so many accents are missing but w/e)
Country of Origin:
Brazil
Description:
Huge birds with useless bat winds and scissor-beaks. Demons. Another beast that can shift to a human guise, but hilariously it resembles the Pope as a human. They're malevolent and not intelligent. They prey upon both living and dead souls, and are very hard to fight off in both worlds.

Beast Name:
Vouivre (dragon subspecies)
Country of Origin:
France
Description:
Female dragon. The most well-known depiction is a huge snake with wings, covered in fire. No eye, instead replaced with a gem, likely a ruby that can be removed. Once removed, as she does to bathe herself, the beast is vulnerable. They're not terrible dragons, just don't steal from them. More, as always, in the

Beast Name:
Axehandle Hound
Country of Origin:
North America
Description:
Okay, this exists. Basically, dog that resembles an axe, head looks a lot like an axe head. It's a nuisance but not dangerous, feeding on unattended axes. Kinda want to say that this could potentially be a Tsukumogami-like creature, but no
sources agree with me.
